I cannot remember a time when I did not know there was a Greater Reality more immense than I could comprehend but to which I was also intimately connected. Even so, my spiritual journey has been along a circuitous path and continues to evolve. That path includes growing up in a fundamental evangelical denomination, transitioning to the United Methodist Church as an adult, obtaining a Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, and becoming an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. Currently, I understand my Christian heritage and beliefs as the specific sacred lens through which I view a more encompassing spiritual reality. My love for Jesus the Christ is deep, but it is also wide and open to the sacred in all people and other traditions.

Though my personal spiritual orientation remains Christian, I have studied a variety of other traditions and have utilized their practices in my own spiritual exploration and journey. As a spiritual director, I support the distinctive journey of every individual, companioning you through movements in your own unique spiritual life. I honor your religious or spiritual tradition or your choice not to identify with one.

I am also a certified graduate of the Haden Institute of Spiritual Direction in Henderson, North Carolina where I learned to incorporate Jungian concepts, dreamwork, creativity in a variety of forms (visual art, poetry, dance, etc.), Myers-Briggs Type Indicators, and the Enneagram in my work with others. And although I can draw upon my experience and education in our time together, suggesting readings or other activities to aid in your reflection and exploration of Self, sacred listening is the cornerstone of our time together. I am also a member of Spiritual Director International (SDI).

I do not have all the “right” answers and I will not make decisions for you, but together we can listen for the still small voice that provides you with your own inner guidance, whether you identify that voice as the Holy Spirit, Source, Intuition, or your Higher Self. It would be an honor to accompany you on your spiritual journey.
